Why SA taxman is targeting late Zahara’s estate
South African Revenue Service (SARS) is targeting an estate owned by late singer Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana.
According to South African media pundits, the late singer owed the taxman a whooping R3 million in tax debt which is approximately Ksh 21.7 million
The estate is said to be valued at over R 3.5 million (Ksh 25,337,746).
While South Africans questioned whether their taxman can enact a letter of demand for a deceased person, the singer’s family was planning a music show to help raise money to reposes the property.
Zahara was born on 9th November 1987 and died on 11 December 2023. Reports said she was battling liver related issues.
At the time, her family confirmed the passing of their daughter.
