Why Abel Mutua has been trending during Australia tour
Kenyan film artist Abel Mutua has been trending on various platforms in Kenya, especially on social media, where he has been a hot topic for the past two days.
Talk about Abel intensified following his recent trip to Australia with his wife, Judy Nyawira, for the third edition of their popular Jyuuce Party festival.
Abel’s talent has brought him various forms of popularity, with some seeing him as a comedian, hype man, and voice actor, while others recognize him as a trailblazer in modern African storytelling.
Prominent criticism came from a user named Josh, who analyzed Abel’s content and suggested areas for improvement.
“Yesterday, I asked you to tell me exactly what Abel Mutua does to give my opinion on whether he’s a comedian and good at what he does or not. You sent me recommendations for some of the best stories he has ever told and I went and watched one of them. But guys, is that what you call funny?” Josh explained.
“We have storytellers, comedians, and if they were telling stories like Abel, they would be better. Abel is good. I’m not saying he’s bad, he’s good. But he’s just a starter, and that’s why some people think he’s good.
But he’s doing something great. If someone else joins and does what he does better, then he can reap a lot from it. He’s doing what he can do best, and that’s fine, but I say there’s room for improvement,” Josh added.
This criticism has sparked debate among fans, with opinions divided on the truth of Josh’s assessment. However, we have seen his fans defending him and being impressed by what he does.
Here are some opinions from Abel’s fans:
shmasila: Josh, if the content is boring for you, it doesn’t mean it is for us too. One man’s food is another’s poison.
Alexis Kirika: Your story is now not funny.
Tiny trendz: You’re not his target audience, periodT! NEXT!
Teferah: Abel Mutua is a creative genius.
i am minroman: But Abel isn’t a comedian bro…He is a storyteller…and we, as fans, love him and his stories…the rest, leave them.
Abel gained fame through his role in the popular series Tahidi High. In 2019, he ventured into storytelling, captivating his audience with engaging narratives delivered with detailed descriptions.
Throughout his career, Abel has delivered several successful shows, including Celebrity First Encounters, Stories of My Life and Young and Stupid.
These films have strengthened his reputation as a great storyteller and further solidified his position as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry in Kenya.
