Whitman made significant contributions to Kenya – Gov. Kihika

Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika has expressed her appreciation for the contributions made by Meg Whitman during her tenure as U.S. Ambassador to Kenya.

Earlier this week, Whitman announced her resignation following Donald Trump’s victory in the recent U.S. presidential election. Kihika conveyed her sadness at the abrupt end of the envoy’s tour of duty in Kenya.

According to the Nakuru Governor, Ambassador Whitman actively worked to strengthen trade and investment ties between the United States and Kenya, highlighting the country’s potential as an attractive destination for U.S. investors.

“Truly sorry to see Amb. Meg Whitman leave.  Say what you may but she truly loved Kenya and marketed it like no one else could or ever did especially in matters Trade,” the Governor posted on her X page.

During her time in office, Governor Kihika notes that Whitman achieved several milestones that positively impacted the lives of Kenyans. She emphasised that Whitman’s record stands out and she will be fondly remembered for her contributions to Kenya’s development.

“For those like myself who worked closely with her she was a passionate and positive force in helping us impact the lives of our communities. You will be greatly missed,” she said

Whitman served as the U.S. Ambassador to Kenya since August 2022, having been appointed by President Joe Biden.
