Two dead, one injured in fatal collision near Siyapei Bridge in Narok

Two people have died and one person was injured after a tragic road accident near Siyapei Bridge in Narok County on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at around 7:00 p.m., approximately 9 kilometres east of Siyapei Police Station.

It involved an Isuzu FRR lorry, registration number KDK 364U and a Skygo motorcycle, registration number KMFU 751W, ridden by 25-year-old Leonard Ntoika Sanoe.

The motorcycle was carrying two pillion passengers.

According to police reports, both the lorry and the motorcycle were travelling toward Mai-Mahiu from Narok when the lorry driver attempted to overtake the motorcycle.

The manoeuvre resulted in the motorcycle being pushed off course, leading to the lorry running over the rider and one passenger.

The rider, Leonard Ntoika Sanoe, and one pillion passenger, 60-year-old Parsariro Sanoe, died on the spot.

The other passenger, 40-year-old Muyani Ntaiya, sustained minor injuries and was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

The lorry driver fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains at large.

Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.

Both the lorry and motorcycle have been towed to Narok Police Station for further investigation.

The bodies of the deceased were transferred to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary, where postmortem examinations are pending.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the lorry driver’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
