Tanzanian national dies after falling off building in Eastleigh
A Tanzanian national died after falling from the rooftop of a building in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.
Eliyaman Lenina, 34, died after landing on the ground floor headfirst, witnesses and police said of the Tuesday afternoon incident near Dubai Hotel.
Lenina worked as a guard at a nearby premise, police said.
It emerged he had gone to the rooftop of the four-storey building and slid off after stepping on the iron sheet.
He fell to the ground floor and died on the spot.
Police were called to the scene and helped to move the body to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police probe death of woman in Huruma
Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of a woman whose body had burns in Huruma, Nairobi.
Police said the boyfriend of the deceased identified as Jane Mumbi, 34 had reported he went to work and left her sleeping and unwell in the house.
He came back on Tuesday evening and found her dead.
Police said they had established the deceased had physical burns on the thighs, legs and face which a neighbour confirmed to have been inflicted by hot water on Sunday and she was under medication at home.
It is not clear how the woman was burnt and it is part of the probe by police.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and more investigations.
Two-year old girl drowns in water pan in Embu
A two-year-old girl drowned in a water pan in Gachoka, Mbeere, Embu County.
The incident happened on Sunday, May 13, police said.
According to police, the child was rescued from the water pan and rushed to Nganduri dispensary where first aid was administered.
She was referred to Imara Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident is under probe, police said.
