Speaker Wetang’ula cautions leaders over divisive politics

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has emphasized that a majority of Kenyans are yearning for peace and stability in the country.

Wetang’ula condemned the opposition side of orchestrating divisive that may cause mayhem to country.

Speaking during a public event, in Taveta Taita taveta County, the Speaker urged leaders to promote unity and responsible leadership, saying Kenyans are tired of toxic politics.

Coast political leaders led by Mining Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho rallied support and urged the region to turn out in large numbers for the 2027 General Election.

Joho stated that a close political analysis shows that the Coast region holds significant electoral weight and will play a key role in shaping Kenya’s next leadership.

Likoni MP Mishi Mboko echoed the same sentiments, noting that the Coast region has enough votes to determine the outcome of the presidential race.

The leaders issued a stern warning to politicians attempting to divide the region with what they called “cheap and outdated politics.” The community called for unity and strategic engagement
