Sights and scenes from Shujaa concert
Participants of a memorial concert in honor of protest victims will mount crosses bearing the victims’ names at Uhuru Park on Sunday.
The concert will take place at the same venue to mourn and honor all those who lost their lives fighting for the cause.
A video seen by Mpasho showed participants mounting several white crosses with the names of victims killed during protests written in black paint.
Thousands of Gen Zers and Millennials are expected at Uhuru Park on Sunday afternoon.
The event, dubbed Shujaaz Memorial Concert, will also include participants from other generations who have committed to supporting the cause.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who approved the use of Uhuru Park for the memorial, said he would attend the concert.
Organizers of the concert, led by activist Boniface Mwangi, announced that the concert is expected to start at noon and end at 7 pm.
