Sadness as Nollywood loses another actor, Zulu Adigwe
The Nigerian film industry is once again in mourning following reports of the death of another veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe, who passed away on Tuesday evening.
The death of the veteran actor was confirmed by film producer Stanley Nwoko through a post on his Instagram page.
However, he did not disclose the cause of his death.
“It is with sadness that I announce the passing of the veteran actor, the late Mr. Zulu Adigwe. The cause of his death is yet to be determined. Rest in peace, great actor,” Nwoko said.
The deceased starred in films such as Isakaba, Unforgettable, Blood Diamond, The Powerful Baby, Grandmaster, My Promise, City of Kings, Divided Heart, and many others. He often played roles such as chief, traditional ruler, father, or elder.
Zulu’s death comes just a month after another veteran Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, also passed away.
Mr. Muonagor was confirmed dead on March 24 after battling kidney disease for a long time. He passed away at the age of 62.
Nigerian media reported that the comic actor was undergoing dialysis treatment before his death. He had been partially paralyzed due to kidney disease which claimed his life.
The death of the veteran actor came days after a video surfaced in which he appeared to be soliciting financial assistance from Nigerians to enable him to travel abroad for a kidney transplant.
