Ruto will win clean in 2027, says Mudavadi
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has affirmed the integrity of the forthcoming 2027 General Election, asserting that President William Ruto will achieve a legitimate victory based on the will of the people.
Speaking during a tour of Malava, Kakamega County, Mudavadi dismissed what he described as “cheap publicity and mediocre talk” from both opposition leaders and some within the Kenya Kwanza alliance, who have been casting doubts on the credibility of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“Mimi nataka kuambia wale wanasiasa wa upinzani na pia wale wanaongea wakiwa mrengo wetu wa Kenya Kwanza… muache kuzungumza upuzi. Mheshimiwa Ruto hataiba kura, atapigiwa kura halali ya kushinda,” Mudavadi said.
He urged political leaders to stop undermining public confidence in the IEBC, stating that the commission is capable of conducting a free, fair, and credible election in August 2027.
“Let us stop casting doubts on the integrity of the IEBC. It will not allow rigging of the elections. Let us stop this cheap publicity and nonsense that the IEBC will rig-in Ruto,” he added.
Affirming President Ruto’s commitment to democratic principles, Mudavadi insisted that the Head of State has neither planned nor instructed anyone to manipulate the vote.
“President Ruto is not going to steal the votes, and he has not assigned anybody to steal the votes. Ruto is going to win democratically, kupitia kwa hiari ya wananchi,” said the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
Mudavadi’s remarks come amidst growing political rhetoric about the 2027 polls. He underscored the importance of trust in the institutions responsible for overseeing elections.
