Ruto orders NPS to cooperate with IPOA in solving Ojwang’s death

President William Ruto has ordered the National Police Service to fully cooperate with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority to expedite investigations into the death of Albert Ojwang.

“I call on the National Police Service to fully cooperate with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority and to take every necessary measure to facilitate a swift, transparent, and credible investigation into the death of Ojwang,” said President William Ruto.

In a statement sent newsrooms, the Head of State termed the late Ojwang’s death at the hands of the police as heartbreaking and unacceptable

“I strongly condemn the actions and omissions, including any negligence or outright criminality that may have contributed to his untimely death,” he said.

While condemning the unfortunate incident, President Ruto maintained that he expects the truth about what happened to Ojwang will be established in due course, and that justice will be served.
