Ruto driven by legacy, not applause – Mudavadi
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President William Ruto, describing him as a visionary leader committed to securing Kenya’s future through bold and sometimes unpopular decisions.
Mudavadi says he has taken the time to interact with the president and can vouch for his good intentions for the country in the long term. He stated that Ruto possesses the courage to make the right, albeit difficult, and bold decisions necessary for the country’s transformation.
Mudavadi, who also serves as the country’s Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary urged Kenyans to allow the President time to deliver on his agenda.
“I know President William Ruto in ways most of you never will. We’ve sat face-to-face, time and again, to chart this country’s future,” Mudavadi said.
In order to change the nation’s destiny, Mudavadi pointed out that Kenya needs a leader who does not resort to simplistic and convenient decisions.
“He (President Ruto) doesn’t flinch from tough decisions because he’s driven by a bold, unwavering vision for Kenya’s long-term greatness.”
According to the Prime CS, Ruto’s presidency is not based on populist appeal but rather on laying a solid foundation for lasting development. He believes the President’s current policies and development programmes form part of a long-term blueprint to secure Kenya’s prosperity.
“President William Ruto doesn’t tremble in the face of pressure,” Mudavadi added. “His hard decisions aren’t made for applause; they’re made for generations to come. He’s not chasing headlines; he’s chasing legacy. Kenya will thank him when the dust settles.”
Mudavadi, who began his political career at a young age and has served in various high-level positions in both government and the opposition, reiterated that development requires patience and clarity of purpose — values he believes President Ruto embodies fully.
“What I saw in him is a man on fire for his country,” he remarked, calling on Kenyans from all walks of life to support the President in achieving his vision for the nation.
Mudavadi has consistently maintained that many of the programmes currently being implemented by President Ruto’s administration will take time to bear fruit, but are crucial in building a stronger and more resilient nation.
“It is easier to make the easy decisions, but harder to make decisions that have an impact,” the Prime CS maintains
