President Ruto consults me regularly – AG Muturi
Attorney General Justin Muturi has urged members of the public to ignore media reports alleging a breakdown in communication between his office and that of President William Ruto.
Muturi says reports on the contrary are untrue, even as he reiterated that as the chief legal adviser of the government, he maintains a good working relationship with the head of state.
“In exercise of my mandate as the principal legal adviser to the Government, I have emphasized that consultations with His Excellency the President are regular and on-going on pertinent matters of National concern,” the Attorney General said in response to a report in a local newspaper claiming Muturi had expressed frustration that his office is never consulted on some of the critical decisions made in government.
The AG avers that the report is entirely inaccurate and taken out of context.
“Throughout my career as a State Officer, I’m guided and continue to be guided by the national values and principles of governance as provided for under Article 10 of our Constitution,” he said
He challenged media enterprises and media practitioners to be fair and accurate even as they exercise their right to freedom of expression.
