President Ruto congratulates Mauritius’ new PM

President William Ruto has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

In a statement on his X handle, President Ruto said he had a telephone conversation with the prime minister about his election and the faith the people of his country have shown in him and his party.

“ I have had a telephone conversation with the newly elected Prime Minister of Mauritius,  Navinchandra Ramgoolam. I congratulated him on his election and on the faith the people of his country have shown in him and his party,” he said.

The head of state further affirmed the strong and cordial diplomatic ties between Kenya and Mauritius adding that the two countries are fully committed to deepening the relations.

“We affirmed the strong and cordial diplomatic ties between our two countries and peoples and committed ourselves to deepening the relations”.

The president also confirmed that Prime Minister Ramgloolam had expressed his support for Kenya’s candidate to the African Union Commission Chairperson, Raila Odinga, for which he expressed much appreciation.

“Prime Minister Ramgloolam confirmed his support for Kenya’s candidate to the African Union Commission Chairperson, Raila Odinga, for which I expressed much appreciation” he stated.
