Passports processing to take three days, Government affirms
Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizen Services, Julius Bitok, has affirmed that Kenyans will be able to get passports within three days after application.
Speaking Saturday in Moiben, Uasin Gishu county, Bitok said ongoing reforms will ensure the travel documents are processed within the three days as from August.
Bitok said the government had almost completed modernisation of machinery required for the issuance of passports smoothly.
He said currently, it takes at least two weeks to process passports but the period will be reduced to three days.
The PSÂ Â said his department is also devolving the same services to ensure government services are offered within all constituencies.
Bitok opened a Civil Registration Services (CRS) office to take services closer to the residents of Moiben.
CRS provides for the compulsory and immediate registration of all births and deaths that occur in Kenya, without regard to nationality.
