Passaris raises pertinent questions to police about Kware murders
Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has raised questions about the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after they presented a suspect allegedly involved in the brutal murders of 42 women.
Through her X account, Passaris expressed her relief that the prime suspect in the murders was arrested but questioned whether the police allowed these killings to continue for nearly three years.
“Evil surrounds us. As I seek solace knowing that the killer has been arrested, I have many unanswered questions. Was the first victim, a wife who was reported missing?” Passaris questioned.
The MP challenged investigative and police authorities to provide a list of people who went missing during the period when the murders were reported to have occurred.
“Did the police fail to take action and allow a serial killer to harass and kill our women?”
“The police should publicly announce the names of all reported missing victims on their websites and social media platforms,” she said.
Passaris suggested that the deaths could have been avoided if the police officers involved in handling missing persons reports had taken their duties seriously.
“Do you take missing persons reports seriously? Or are they just OB entries? Do you care enough, or are they just statistics?”
“Could we have avoided all these deaths if you had never released the prime suspect when he killed his wife?” she asked.
She noted that the police reports, identification, and arrest of the serial killer suspect indicate negligence on the part of the police department and a lack of respect for human life.
“No one goes missing without having family or friends raising concerns. The police should tell us more. Were the missing persons reports taken lightly?” Passaris added.
The DCI identified and arrested the suspect involved in the murders, mutilation, and disposal of the bodies of at least 42 women in the Embakasi Pipeline area.
