One of ‘Mlolongo 4’ abductees found dead
One of the four men abducted in Mlolongo has been found dead.
The body of Justus Musyimi was discovered in a river near Ruai, contradicting earlier reports from the police that they were tracing the victims in Kitui.
Appearing before court on Thursday, just before the body was found, the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and DCI Director Mohamed Amin stated that the men were not in police custody.
Speaking at the City Mortuary the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has criticised the two accusing them of misleading the public about the whereabouts of the abductees.
“It is quite hilarious that the police had already discovered a body and were doing investigations and all along they have denied that they don’t know the whereabouts of the three,” said Odhiambo.
Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo echoed similar concerns stating that the police misled the court by claiming they were tracking the victims in Kitui while the body had already been found.
“The police did not give the correct information in court,” he said.
The deceased went missing in December last year alongside, Martin Mwau, Karani Mwema, and Stephen Kavingo.
