Naivasha MP to take plea in incitement case on August 7th
Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara is set to plea in an incitement case on August 7th, trial Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi has ruled.
The MP, who has been in and out of Court presented herself before Milimani Courts Tuesday over alleged incitement at a rally, remarks her lawyers had earlier claimed were defective.
The embattled MP is set to take plea on charge of offensive conduct to breach of peace contrary to Section 94(1) of the penal Code, Cap 63 Laws of Kenya.
While appearing in Court, Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi differed Plea taking for the Naivasha Mp to allow them go to the Constitutional High Court and seek interpretation of the sections of the constitution.
Kihara’s defence team were seeking for 14days stay of the ruling arguing that if the plea taking is allowed it will open flood gates of such cases in future.
