Musician Juliana Kanyomozi honoured

Legendary Ugandan musician Juliana Kanyomozi was feted by industry stakeholders recently who honoured her contribution to the music industry.

The Usiende Mbali hitmaker shared photos of the ceremony where her colleagues honored her with an honorary Certificate in Music from the Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre.

Expressing gratitude for the accolade, the singer received the award thanking them for recognizing her talent and passion.

“So this happened yesterday. Thank you Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Center for this Honorary Award. Got me so emotional (story for another day) Lol.”

“I am deeply humbled to be recognized in such a remarkable way. Especially by someone I’ve loved and admired for the longest time and that is Omumbejja Mariam Ndagire. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Many of Juliana’s fans said it was long overdue, praising her for her musical talent.

“This is so special for me because it is coming from a woman that I have loved and admired for so many years,” she said.

“It is amazing how much time can fly because, you look back and realise how much you have done and it seems like it all happened in a blink of an eye,” Juliana told an audience of graduands as she stood in front of them to address them.

Elsewhere, several Kenyans were on the past week also celebrated for their achievements as well by Mdundo, a leading digital music platform.

Wakadinali were declared the Most Downloaded Male Artist of the Year, while Nadia Mukami got the Award for Most Downloaded Female Artist of the Year.

Vijana Barubaru were awarded  the Highest Growing Artist.
