KISUMU, Kenya, Jul 10 – A 750 feet mining shaft collapsed in Rongo, Migori County Tuesday night trapping 18 miners inside.

Rescue efforts managed to pull out 6 people out alive, but with injuries.

By evening rescue efforts were still underway to rescue the rest..

Those rescued were treated at Rongo sub county hospital but those in critical condition were referred to the county referral hospital in Migori town
