Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza impeached again

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been impeached for the third time.

She is facing similar charges of gross violation of the constitution and county laws, gross misconduct and abuse of office.

49 MCAs on Thursday voted in favour of the impeachment motion tabled by Deputy Majority Party Leader Zipporah Kinya, 17 opposed while three abstained.

Last month attempts by the ward representatives to oust the governor were thwarted following a court order.

The embattled county boss had moved to court to block the motion arguing the process was flawed.

She maintains her political opponents are to blame for her woes.
