Mark my words! Mudavadi confident of Ruto’s win in 2027
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has asserted that President William Ruto will win his second term through the ballot in 2027.
Mudavadi said he holds on the prediction of how the coming election will be despite the shifting political dynamics and told Kenyans that Ruto still stands a big chance in the 2027 poll.
He was speaking at the burial of Mama Mildred Wanyama the wife to legendary AFC Leopards midfielder Mzee Noah Wanyama and mother to Kenya’s renowned international footballers Mc Donald Mariga and Victor Wanyama in Soy, Uasin Gishu County.
“Mimi nataka niwaambie nilisimama wakati mheshimiwa William Ruto alikuwa akitafuta kura mwaka wa 2022 tukaenda kule BOMAS tukapanga EARTHQUAKE, nikawaonyesha watu wetu Barabara. When you did not expect it, watu walikuwa wameogopa wakifikiri kwamba Ruto, hajui mahali anaaenda, mimi na wengine tukasema the country has shifted tusimame na William Ruto, na hiyo ndio ilikuwa EARTHQUAKE, swali ni je, William Ruto alishinda ama hakushinda?” posed the Prime CS.
He urged residents of Western Kenya, Uasin Gishu County and the Kenya at large to stay united and continue supporting the President’s agenda, which he said reflects a shared vision for national development.
He said the direction he is advising the people of Western Kenya and the nation to take is for the political good moving into the future.
He reminded Kenyans to remain focused and forthright as a people and work towards a common goal.
“Sasa mimi nataka niwaambie tena, kwasababu nilisema hivyo hapo awali, nataka niwaambie kwamba 2027, Willam Ruto atashinda awamu yake ya pili. Kwa hivyo mimi nawaambia hapa kila mara mnasema tupatie mwelekeo, Musalia give us direction, I gave you direction before the election of 2022 wengine mkafikiri I was giving you the wrong direction, I was right and a number were wrong. Mark my words, in 2027 William Ruto is going to succeed through the ballot for his second term. I am telling you our people of Western Kenya and the whole country listen to the message I am giving you; it is going to happen.” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi a seasoned politician and one of the key and influential top most leaders within President Ruto’s political circles affirmed that he has re-looked and analysed the emerging trends within the political atmosphere in the country and tipped that Ruto means well for the country.
He said the development plan and agenda moving towards the 2027 general election will give Ruto an upper hand as compared to any presidential competitor who will emerge.
“Mheshimiwa rais anataka kulijenga taifa letu, kule Uingereza pahali alituongoza juzi, anataka abadilishe the transport network ya Nairobi. Ahakikishe kwamba the upcoming Nairobi Railways City inakuwa na umaarufu zaid ili transport katika city yetu ya Nairobi iwe improved, iwe more convenient, and more affordable to the population that is growing almost reaching 7 million in Nairobi.” he stated.
“Kule Uchina Rais alikuwa kwa mazungumzo anataka barabara ya kutoka Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit ipite Uasin Gishu hapo Eldoret kuelekea Malaba boarder kama dual carriage way. Na serikali ya Uchina imekubalaina kwamba itashirikiana na sisi ili hiyo barabara ifanikishwe.” he added.
Mudavadi said in a major boost to Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), President Ruto also successfully negotiated a new financing model with China to extend the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Naivasha in Nakuru county through the county of Kisumu all the way to Malaba border in Busia County a long-awaited milestone for the Lake Region and beyond.
He said this will mark a significant step toward unlocking economic opportunities for millions of Kenyans, particularly in Western Kenya as the new SGR Phase 2B line will eventually link Kenya’s rail network to Uganda thus strengthening regional trade routes across East Africa.
“Rais anataka sana SGR itoke Naivasa ifike ile boarder ya Malaba. Unajua ukiwa Eldoret perhaps from here to Kampala is more less the same distance as from here to Nairobi. Hata nikiwa Kakamega it is nearer to go to Kampala than to go to Nairobi.
Mudavadi also the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs reflected on Kenya’s economic growth reminding Kenyans that in march this year he noted an upward trajectory, with growth improving from 4.8 percent in 2022 to 5.2 percent in 2023.
In March 2025 the Prime CS noted that inflation had dropped significantly from 9.2 percent in September 2022 to 3.5 percent in February 2025, signaling positive trends in the overall Gross Domestic Product indicators.
He took a swipe at the newly formed opposition front for misleading Kenyans on the projections of the Kenyan economy.
“Mtu anasimama na kusema ati atabadilisha Uchumi, mimi nimekuwa waziri wa fedha and I can tell you hawa watu wanazunguka na kuzungumza hapa kwa Barabara they know nothing about the economy and how to turn it around. I am telling Kenyans the truth wao ni porojo tu. Kubadilisha Uchumi and especially ile umepata ulikuwa umewekewa madeni ya mlolongo kubadilisha huo Uchumi sio mchezo.” warned Mudavadi.
