Maribe enlists Itumbi’s circle to help find him a wife » Capital News
NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 — Former news anchor Jaque Maribe has promised to help his long-time ally Dennis Itumbi find a wife amid speculation on a possible reunion.
Maribe, who secured an acquittal in February after a 6-year murder trial that saw her ex-boyfriend ‘Jowie’ Irungu convicted and sentenced to death, promised to rally Itumbi’s friends to accomplish the objective.
“This new year around the sun, this group in this photo will help you find a wife, so everyone stops assuming it’s me,” Maribe wrote in a birthday message to the blogger-cum-politician, hailing their decades-long friendship.
Itumbi was at the center of a campaign to exonerate Maribe of murder maintaining the former newscaster’s innocence in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Kimani’s lifeless body with the throat slit was found at her KLamuria Gardens apartment in Nairobi in September 2018 with investigations picking Jowie, who lived with Maribe, as a person of interest.
Maribe later ditched Jowie, disowning their relationship during the trial that ended in her acquittal.
Jowie has filed a notice to appeal his conviction and subsequent sentencing.
