Man’s mutilated body found dumped in Naivasha

A mutilated body has been discovered dumped along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road.

The body whose leg and some fingers had been cut off was found near the Mai Mahiu IDP camp with allegations that he was dumped by a speeding car.

The naked body whose leg had been severed above the knee was found dumped 10kms from Mai Mahiu town by members of the public.

In the last couple of years, the area has been used as a dumping ground for people murdered elsewhere leaving area residents in fear.

In the latest incident, the body was found off the road with deep knife stabs on various parts of the body and with the leg missing.

A witness Enock Ngari said that the man did not come from the area adding that he could have been dumped by the roadside by the killers.

He said that the body had over twenty stabs on the head and back and was still oozing blood when members of the public stumbled on it.

“The man was stark naked and it’s evident that he was tortured by people who severed off his leg before dumping the body by the roadside,” he said.

Naivasha OCPD Stephen Kirui confirmed the incident adding that the body had been collected and taken to the Naivasha subcounty hospital mortuary.

“Initial investigations indicate that this man was murdered elsewhere and dumped along this road and we shall collect his fingerprints to assist in the identification process,” he said.

Meanwhile, a middle-aged man was run over by a train in unclear circumstances in Naivasha and along the Nairobi-Nakuru railway line.

Body parts were found strewn along the busy railway line following the incident near Manera estate on the outskirts of Naivasha town.

This brings to two the number of people who have been run over and killed by trains in Naivasha in the last month.

Last week, a man had both his legs cut off by a train near Mirera estate in Naivasha and died while undergoing treatment at Naivasha sub-county hospital.

The OCPD confirmed the incident noting that it was not clear what transpired before the deceased who was alone was run over by the train.

“The man has since been identified by the relatives and it’s worrying that two men have been run over by trains in the last month which is very rare,” he said.
