Mandera hotel attack victims evacuated to Nairobi
Victims of the Wednesday afternoon hotel attack in Mandera have been safely evacuated to Nairobi by a team led by the Kenya Red Cross Society.
A total of four critically injured individuals were airlifted from Mandera County Referral Hospital.
One patient was evacuated through Amref Flying Doctors services, while three others were transported by the Kenya Red Cross.
Personnel on board provided stabilization and mental support to the victims.
Adan Moustafa from the Kenya Red Cross coordinated the response, stating that their team immediately assisted the injured after the blast.
“Our Emergency Preparedness team at the Kenya Red Cross acted swiftly and ensured all critically injured victims were safely evacuated to Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment,” Moustafa said.
