Man builds mansion for parents after working as a dishwasher in the UK
In a video explaining the source of his money to build the house for his parents, Igboke said that many are just talking because they didn’t witness the beginning of his journey.
The young man explained how he went to the UK to further his studies with only £100, equivalent to Ksh 16,800, and after going bankrupt, he was forced to do informal jobs, stating that no hotel in London doesn’t know him because he used to wash dishes in many hotels every day just to make ends meet.
“I posted a picture of our house, and I saw many comments that made me wonder what people’s problem was. People said many things; some said I’m ‘wash wash’ but they don’t know that I washed dishes in hotels for 4 years,” he said.
“Four years ago, I came to the UK to pursue my Masters degree; I am a very responsible person, and I also know how to save. For example, I’ve been in the UK for 4 years but I still don’t have a car, not because I can’t afford it, but because I know that a car comes with other responsibilities.”
“Now, nobody remembers what I went through; all they see is success. For your information, there’s no restaurant in Central London that doesn’t know me. I was washing dishes when I first entered this country with only £100 [Ksh 16,800]. I stood for more than 11 hours washing dishes, the kitchen was burning,” Igboke narrated.
Besides washing dishes, he also narrated how he used to take care of elderly people, saying that he washed many elderly people’s bodies before completing his studies and getting a job in the UK.
