List of Kenyan stars taking over the world by storm

Kenya has long been known for its world-class athletes and wildlife, but in recent years, the Eastern African country has been making waves on the global entertainment stardom.

From music and comedy to film and sports, Kenyan talents are shining bright taking the world by storm.

Recently, content creators, Mulamwah, Moya David, and Benawamalines have made their way to China after a fully funded trip by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya for the outstanding content they create.

Here’s a spotlight on the most influential stars shaping global conversations in 2024.

• Lupita Nyong’o

She is a global icon. Born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and raised in Kenya, Lupita’s rise to stardom was very fast after she won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in 12 Years a Slave (2013) in 2014.

She therefore became the first Kenyan to win an Oscar, the first African actress to win Best Actress in a Supporting Role and the first Mexican-born actress to win an Oscar.

Lupita has also become a trailblazer in Hollywood, starring in blockbusters like Black Panther.
