On Sunday, March 17th, 2024, tragedy struck as Rita was found lifeless at her residence in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

Expected to be present at NTV for work, her absence prompted concern among management, leading them to investigate her whereabouts.

Upon reaching her home, they were met with the heartbreaking discovery of her untimely passing. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unknown, awaiting official scrutiny by the authorities.

Rita Tinina’s illustrious journalism career spanned esteemed positions at both KTN and NTV, culminating in her return to Nation Media Group’s NTV in October 2023 following her tenure at Standard Group Limited.

Renowned for her exceptional reporting prowess, Rita earned widespread recognition and praise from viewers across the industry.

Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Nairobi (UoN), she navigated the complex media landscape with grace and proficiency.
