Labour Court revokes suspension of KETRACO boss Wamukota » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 8 – The Employment and labour Relations Court has revoked the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) Limited’s suspension of General Manager Anthony Wamukota.

In his ruling, Justice Byrum Ongaya described the move as unconstitutional and ordered the firm to pay Wamukota’s pending salaries.

Justice Onyaya further indicated that it violated fair labour practices.

During his defence, Wamukota argued that the Board made the decision under express directions from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

He pointed out that this was contrary to the company’s human resource policy and procedures manual
