KUCCPS re-opens portal for First Revision of applicants » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 19 – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its application portal for the First Revision of applicant’s who have not secured courses in various institutions.

The exercise which will run till April 4 will offer applicants that applied during the February/March window period but failed to secure a place in universities and technical colleges another opportunity to apply for courses.

It also targets 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) graduates with a minimum of C+ that did not apply for degree programmes to do during this current application window.

KUCCPS has also encouraged form four leavers from 23years ago with any mean grade that have never been placed anywhere to use this opportunity to apply for their desired courses.

“Form Four leavers with any KCSE Mean Grade from year 2000 to 2023 who have never enrolled to tertiary institutions through KUCCPS. They are encouraged to apply for TVET courses,” the agency stated.

The agency further directed the applicants of the February/March period to check the nature of their applications on the KUCCPS portal.

This comes after the KUCCPS Chief Executive Dr Agnes Mercy Wahome while addressing participants in the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) TVET Consultative forum in Naivasha on March 8 noted that most students that had qualified for TVET institutions had not submitted their applications by the time the application deadline was closed and promised to reopen in order to accommodate them.

She stated, “the system will open again in about a week or two to mop up more applicants, the country has enough capacity to take care of all Kenyans.”

KUCCPS selects KCSE graduates for placement to all levels of higher education –artisan, craft, diploma or degree. With any KCSE mean grade, a secondary school graduate can log into the system and find a course that suits their grade.
