Kenya set to evacuate its citizens from Israel and Iran

The Kenyan government, through the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, has urged its nationals in Israel and Iran to register for evacuation as the conflict between the two countries intensifies.

A registration form and QR code have been provided to facilitate the listing process.

“For your safety and to ensure we can assist you promptly in case of any emergency or distress, we kindly ask you to register your details with the State Department for Diaspora Affairs”, the ministry said on X.

Kenya has already issued an urgent security advisory to its citizens.

In a statement released on Wednesday by Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu , the government urged all Kenyan citizens in the conflict-affected areas to exercise extreme caution, minimize movement, and stay informed as the situation develops.

“The safety and well-being of Kenyans abroad remain our utmost priority as the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve,” PS Njogu.

The advisory comes amid mounting global concern over the escalating military tensions between Israel and Iran, which have disrupted air travel, strained diplomatic relations, and triggered widespread security alerts. Several countries have advised their nationals to reconsider travel to the region and prepare for possible evacuation scenarios.

She also urged those affected to monitor local news and official alerts closely, and to ensure they keep key documents and emergency supplies ready.

Foreigners evacuated

Thousands of foreigners have already left since the conflict started last week, when Israel launched surprise missile strikes on Iran

Days of attacks and reprisals by the two countries have shuttered airspace, disrupting commercial flights and leaving people unable to get in or out of the region easily.

Some governments are using land borders to get their citizens out by road to countries where airports remain open.

Iran has warned that US involvement in the conflict would be ‘very dangerous’ as Israel targets commanders.
