Kenya mulls evacuating its citizens from DRC amid escalating violence
The government has called on to Kenyans in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to take extreme caution of their security situation following the disturbing situation of escalating conflict in the DRC.
In a statement Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi noted that the government is considering the evacuation of Kenyans who can reach out to the Kenyan consulate in Goma and the other temporary offices in Congo Brazzaville.
“Kenya’s consulate in Goma and the temporary offices in Congo Brazzaville are the places to go for help, and the government is actively evaluating the possibility of evacuating Kenyans who are stuck in conflict-prone areas.” Advised CS Mudavadi.
