Kenya launches global health workforce grants for UHC progress




Kenya has launched the Global Health Workforce grants to boost Human Resources for Health towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The program which is a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the Council of Governors is managed by the Tropical Health and Education (THET).

“We have made strides in the health workforce space enhancing training and regulatory frameworks,” said Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni.

She said the launch emphasizes local ownership, sustainability, and collaboration with international partners.

Stakeholders renewed their commitment to advancing UHC while adhering to Kenya’s economic transformation agenda.
