Kenya goes global with viral hit ‘Anguka Nayo’ reaching Hollywood

The viral ‘Anguka Nayo’ challenge has made its way to Hollywood after US-based Kenyan model and entrepreneur Rachel Mbuki introduced the slogan and dance to some of America’s biggest TV stars.

In a post on Instagram, Mbuki is seen dancing to the song, with some Hollywood stars happily joining in and saying ‘Anguka Nayo.’

The former Miss Universe contestant led multiple Hollywood stars in sending shoutouts to Kenya during the NBC Summer Press Tour red carpet event on Sunday.

Big names including Reba McEntire, Kelli Williams, Bellisa Escobedo, and Shanola Hampton joined the ‘Anguka Nayo’ trend, dancing to the line and extending their support and love to Kenyans.

Other stars, including Jessy Schram, Mellisa Peterman, Reid Scott, and LaRoyce Hawkins, also joined the fun, showering Kenyans with love and dancing along.

While some stars pronounced the line perfectly, others struggled but still appeared animated, with many nailing the dance moves as well.

A lively Rachel Mbuki kept the energy high, introducing star after star, all excited to show love to Kenya and try the ‘Anguka Nayo’ move.

“Kenya, my heart is with you. Your generation is gonna save us from ourselves. You guys and this generation, you’re gonna be the ones to keep the planet spinning. Anguka Nayo!” actress Wendi McLendon said.
