
KeNHA, KeRRA Director General’s resign
Two road agencies top officials have on Friday resigned from their positions effective immediately.
Eng. Kungu Ndungu stepped down as Director General of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) according to a statement by the Board of Directors.
Eng. Kungu has been replaced by Eng. Luka Kimeli who will serve as Acting Director General, effective immediately.
On the other hand, Eng. Philemon Kandie resigned today as Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) Director General effective 11th July, 2025.
The announcement was made by KeRRA’s Board of Directors who also announced replacement. Eng. Jackson K. Magondu (Director – Planning, Design and Environment is set to take over in an acting capacity following consultation with the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport.
“The Authority wishes to inform the general public of the resignation of Eng. Philemon Kandie, MBS as the Director General of Kenya Rural Roads Authority, effective 11th July, 2025,” a statement from KeRRA read.
“The Board of Directors, in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport, wishes to inform that Eng. Jackson K. Magondu (Director – Planning, Design and Environment) has been appointed to the Office of the Director General on acting capacity with effect from Friday, 11th July, 2025,” it added.
The Board of Directors praised Kandie’s invaluable service and contribution to the Authority.
