KAA says daytime flight operations at Wilson unimpacted by NOTAM » Capital News
NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 12 — The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has said daytime flight operations at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport remain unaffected by a NOTAM advisory issued following a runway lights outage on Thursday.
KAA announced an outage of runway lights at Wilson Airport which mostly handles domestic flights due to a technical hitch.
“We would like to inform the public that the runway lights at Wilson Airport are currently out of service due to a technical fault,” KAA said adding its technical teams were working to resolve the challenge.
A KAA official however told Capital News on Friday that operations at Wilson Airport were running uninterrupted since the facility mostly operates at time time with evening flights arriving by 8pm.
The official said the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was a precautionary measure while the airport’s technical team works to identify and resolve the root cause of the problem.
It was not immediately clear whether operators with evening flights into the facility had rescheduled in light of the NOTAM.
