Juja MP Koimburi found dumped in coffee plantation
Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi was found early Monday morning abandoned in a coffee plantation in the Kibichoi area of Kiambu County.
Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and those responsible for the act have not yet been identified.
Koimburi reportedly told authorities he was abducted and beaten by unknown assailants who grabbed him from outside a church in Kiambu on Sunday afternoon.
Police have denied any involvement in the incident but confirmed that investigations are ongoing following a report filed by the MP’s family on Sunday.
When found, Koimburi was unconscious, still wearing the navy blue suit he had on during the abduction.
Witnesses report that he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to Hospital for treatment.
Yesterday, Ann Koimburi, the MP’s wife, said that her husband was confronted by two men disguised as church worshippers.
According to her, the men forcibly placed him into a silver Subaru Forester with an altered number plate, allegedly to conceal the vehicle’s identity.
The men, dressed in plain clothes, did not identify themselves during the incident.
The motive behind the abduction remains unknown.
