JSC resumes interviews for Judges of the High Court
Interviews for 20 new High Court judges by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) resumed Monday morning.
Six candidates among them three Chief Magistrates namely Elizabeth Juma, Elizabeth Katiwa and Emily Ominde will face the panel led by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
31 candidates of the 100 shortlisted have been interviewed with the exercise set to conclude on April, 30.
They were tested on how well they were versed with the Constitution and its interpretation, the rule of Law and how the role of a judge has changed as opposed to a traditional judge back in the day.
The recruitment of the judges is aimed at enhancing access to justice and boosting clearance of case backlog.
The interviews are being streamed live on www.youtube.com/@jscke and www.facebook.com/judicialkenya
The High Court of Kenya currently has 78 Judges serving in 45 stations across the country.
