I don’t have the grace to be a step mum
Businesswoman and content creator Murugi Munyi is successfully co-parenting her firstborn son with her ex.
The two exes have an agreement on how to conduct their situation. She recently sat down with Fashionable Step Mum, where the two discussed their blended families.
Murugi praised her ex for maturity in handling the situation of their son after they split. She revealed that after that split, as a single mum, she prayed for another partner who didn’t have children.
Her prayers were answered in the form of Zach, her current husband.
“I do believe that God gives a specific kind of grace to people who are stepmoms and stepdads,” she admitted about her desire for a new man
“I said another time on my platform and I got a lot of flak for it, that when I was a single mum and I was looking for a partner, I told God I really would love to meet a partner who does not have children.
Because I don’t think I have the grace to be a step mum because I feel like it requires a…” she got interrupted by Fashionable Step Mum who pointed out how Murugi’s current arrangement.
Mutugi explained herself
“Because you see I already know the complexities on my end. I don’t want to double the complexities. I am already here, there is that family, so then this family, then our family…no. Plus also my husband ..anyone who meets him can just tell he has this very calm, composed disposition, which just makes him…he just able to adapt to situations very nicely and easily. He is not an overthinker, he is not like a super intense person, I am”
“So I can’t imagine myself in a step-mum situation. And I was like God you have not put that particular blessing in me. So let me not then be one. And I’m so glad that my partner didn’t, and I’m happy about that“ she remarked.
Murigi and her husband Ack met in 2016 and married. They have two girls together.
