How Willy Paul Missed Out on Collaboration With Wizkid

Musician Willy Paul has become a trending topic on social media after voicing his controversial opinion about how Kenyan musicians are treated by fans.

He began his Instagram rant by lamenting the lack of recognition for talented musicians, stating, “Most Kenyan artists are just overrated, and that is what’s killing the music industry.”

The CEO and Founder of Saldido International Entertainment urged Kenyans to prioritize talent and skill over mere popularity, calling on them to stop praising what he described as “clowns” in the industry. “Stop praising these clowns and support real music, real talent,” he stressed.

The ‘Njiwa’ singer also revealed for the first time that he missed out on a collaboration with Wizkid four years ago due to misinformation spread to international acts, adding, “The people involved know themselves.”

The artiste also went on to highlight his own achievements, mentioning his latest hit, #Kuukuu, which was released five months ago and has received strong support from influencer Sheryl Gabriella.

He even promised to take her on a trip to Dubai, saying, “Sheryl, next time I’m flying with you. We should perform this challenge song together. One love, my sister,” upon his arrival in Dubai over the weekend.

Many of his fans seemed to resonate with his sentiments, joining in the criticism of what they perceive as the overrating of certain artists in the music industry.
