How it went down at the Shujaaz memorial concert
A concert dubbed ‘Shujaaz’ or ‘ShuGenz’ went down on Sunday at the Uhuru Park. It was a memorial concert to pay tribute to people who lost their lives during the anti-finance bill protests.
The event which was majorly attended by young people started at noon and ended just minutes before 7PM. Attendees downed colours from the Kenyan flag as they paid tribute to those who died while fighting during the protests.
The event was attended by activists among them Okiya Omtatah and Boniface Mwangi, content creators and musicians.
Some of those who performed were Khaligraph Jones, Juliani, Octopizzo, Sanaipei Tande, Mutoriah, Muthoni Drummer Queen, Charisma, Nameless, Bien, Babushka, Maji Maji, Fena Gitu, Vijana Barubaru among many others.
Eric Wainaina moved the crowd with his hit song ‘Daima Mkenya.’
