Gov’t disburses Ksh4.6B for June, July Inua Jamii Programme

The government has disbursed Ksh4.6 billion for the Inua Jamii programme.

In a statement, Labour and Social Protection, Principal Secretary Joseph Motari said the disbursement will cover stipends for June and July 2025 payment cycles.

The payment, which begins today, Thursday (August 7, 2025), will be made to 1,151,017 older persons and persons living with severe disabilities enrolled in the Inua Jamii Programme.

“The disbursement covers stipends for both the June and July 2025 payment cycles. Each beneficiary will receive Ksh. 4,000, representing Ksh. 2,000 per month for the two months. Payments commenced today. The June cycle payment had been delayed due to a data cleanup exercise”, Principal Secretary State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs Joseph Motari said.

The PS further regretted the delay for the June cycle due to a data clean-up exercise.

“Payments commenced today. The June cycle payment had been delayed due to a data cleanup exercise. The State Department apologises to beneficiaries for any inconvenience caused by the delay”, the PS added.

The programme aims to alleviate poverty and promote the well-being of society’s most vulnerable members, including persons aged 70 and above, orphans and vulnerable children, as well as persons with severe disabilities.

Beneficiaries have been encouraged to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to access affordable and quality healthcare.

“In line with the government’s commitment to ensuring universal health coverage, the Ministry encourages all Inua Jamii beneficiaries to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to access affordable and quality healthcare”. He advised.
