Fascinating reason Eric Omondi thinks President Ruto is the leader of Gen Zs
Comedian and prominent Kenyan activist Eric Omondi visited Radio Jambo studios on Thursday morning, where he had a brief discussion with hosts Gidi and Ghost.
Among the topics he discussed were the current political climate in the country, Gen Z youth protests, new cabinet appointments, and the political plans of Kenyan youth.
When asked if he is involved in leading the Gen Z movement that has been significantly active in recent protests, Eric denied being a Gen Z leader and claimed that President Ruto himself is driving the movement.
“No. The leader of Gen Z is William Ruto. Every time he speaks, every time he does something, everything sparks anger. He is the one making Gen Z boil. If you are looking for a Gen Z leader, it is William Samoei Ruto,” Eric said.
Discussing the new cabinet appointments and the inclusion of the opposition in the Kenya Kwanza government, the comedian said it is a blessing as it has helped separate the political elite from ordinary citizens.
“We are very happy because they have come to one side, the political elite and veteran politicians. Now we are left with the Kenyans. Kenyans are now on one side. Now we are the opposition,” he said.
He added, “We are many but we haven’t organized ourselves. Now we will organize. Once we start organizing, give us space. We are going to get IDs and register to vote.”
In recent years, the former Churchill Show comedian has been heavily involved in local politics and has been a vocal critic of the government.
