Ex-CS Ukur, Marsabit Governor quizzed over Ksh 8.2B graft claims
Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani and Marsabit Governor Ali Mohammud Mohammed have been interrogated over alleged embezzlement of Ksh 8.2 billion from Marsabit County Government.
Yattani was arrested Wednesday morning by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission detectives who carried out a sting operation at the homes and offices of the two.
While Yattani was picked from his Nairobi home, Governor Mahammud was arrested in Marsabit, the two said to have been involved in the alleged embezzlement of Ksh 8.2 billion from Marsabit County.
The commission managed to impound computers, documents and two safes from the Former Treasury CS residences which they maintained are crucial to the investigations.
However, Siaya Governor James Orengo, argues that the Former CS and governor were not arrested but came before the commission to assist in investigation.
