Easy Coach driver charged with killing student by dangerous driving » Capital News

KISUMU, Kenya, Apr 18 — An Easy Coach Bus driver who caused the death of a Chavakali Boys High School student early in April has been charged in a Kisumu court.

George Riako, the suspect, denied charges against him when he appeared at the Winam Law Courts.

Riako was charged with causing the death of one student and injuring 9 others.

Principal Magistrate DK Mtai released the accused on a Sh. 200,000 cash bail or Sh. 500,000 bond.

The accident occurred on April 1 along Kisumu Kakamega Highway in the Mamboleo area.

The bus was ferrying the students from the school in Vihiga County to Nairobi for the April holidays.

The case against Riako will be mentioned for further directions on April 25.
