DP Kindiki defends Ruto’s agenda, dismisses opposition as spent force

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has defended President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration against opposition criticism, asserting that the government remains focused on delivering meaningful development and economic empowerment to all Kenyans.

Speaking during an Economic Empowerment Engagement in Malindi Constituency, Kilifi County, on Friday, Kindiki accused opposition leaders of lacking both vision and credibility. He dismissed their political rhetoric, stating that they had previously held powerful positions in government but failed to deliver for Kenyans.

“They were given huge responsibilities and they failed. They don’t know how to work with citizens or fellow leaders. Now they are just roaming around chanting ‘Ruto Must Go’ and ‘One Term’. They should stop misleading the people,” Kindiki asserted.

He says that Ruto’s administration is committed to inclusive and equitable development across the country, underpinned by transformative policies and projects that are already making a difference in people’s lives.

“We are people of action—working Monday to Monday, January to December. We have no time for petty politics that only serve to confuse the public,” Kindiki added.

He further challenged the opposition’s lack of an alternative agenda, stating: “Let them present a genuine manifesto. There’s no manifesto called ‘Ruto Must Go’ or ‘One Term’. Those are slogans, not solutions.”

The Deputy President urged Kenyans to concentrate on development and economic growth, asserting that the current administration is on the right track to deliver lasting change.

“This government is working for all Kenyans. We are here to empower every citizen and build a stronger, united nation,” he said.
