DJ Shiti addresses critics pressuring him to retire from comedy
Comedian Steven Oduor aka DJ Shiti joined the cast and crew of A Nurse Toto season 3 – a comedy-drama series.
His cameo appearance elicited mixed reactions, with some wanting him in more cameos as others urged him to consider retiring.
Shiti addressed these comments in an interview with Oga Obinna on Wednesday, March 13.
Obinna asked him to respond to claims ‘ameisha’.
“Maadui ndio wanasema nimesiha. Real Househelps haikuisha, The series had its time, ilikuwa na wakati wake. Now we are going International,” he said.Â
He said that he is not ready to bow out anytime soon.Â
“People say you should leave the game before fame fades, change is inevitable. As well as growth, So when you have done something for a certain period of time, and it is working, don’t just wait until the end, no, get out before. Usikamue mpaka iishe,” he added.Â

His flagship series was the Real Househelp of Kawangware which eventually saw a host of actors leave the show, and its eventual end on TV.Â
Speaking about this, Shiti said;
“As much as you have a side chick, it doesn’t mean you leave things at home, nyumbani pia unaskuma tu,” he shared.
He hinted there are plans in place to elevate and transform comedy in Kenya.
“Na kipindi ya Butita ni one of the programs zenye zimeleta revolution kwa game. We want to begin a revolution to this game. Revolution doesn’t need too many people.”
In a few days coming, we are coming to distinguish real and mediocre. We want to clean the game, we want to pave the way.
