Current situation in Nairobi CBD as police run battles with Protesters
Police have fired teargas in several parts of Nairobi CBD as they run battles with protesters of the Anti-finance bill.
Most shops in the city remained closed, streets deserted as police took over Nairobi streets to try and deal with protesters.
In videos and Photos captured by our photographers, police could be seen engaging protesters – some who were peaceful and others who were throwing stones at the police. Major roads leading to Nairobi City have also been closed. Among them, Waiyaki Way and Mombasa Road at Mlolongo.
Other roads were closed by police for security reasons.
They include Processional Way and State House Road. All roads leading to the State House were also closed.
