CS Kuria vows radical public service reforms to reduce wagebill » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 12 – Public service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has vowed radical public service reforms to achieve a 35 percent wage bill to revenue ratio by 2028 from the current 43 percent.

Kuria who was speaking during the briefing ahead of the national wage bill conference asserted that the government is keen on reviewing the wage bill which is currently bloated.

He pointed out that Kenya currently has about one worker who consume 43 percent of revenue generated, a contrast to the country’s total population of about 54 million people.

Kuria’s remarks come against the backdrop of president William Ruto’s revelations that the government is working towards reducing the country’s wage bill, which currently stands at 47 per cent, a factor he maintains is high.
