CS Kithure Kindiki declares Monday, June 17 a public Holiday

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has declared Monday, June 17 a public holiday.

The holiday has been declared to mark Eid-Al-Adha.

The celebration of EidulAdha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail.

The Feast of Sacrifice is one of Islam’s two most important holidays.

It is especially significant because it marks the end of the annual Hajj or Pilgrimage to Mecca, celebrated in the final month of the (lunar) Islamic calendar.
