CS Kagwe reaffirms Kenya–Netherlands partnership at King’s Day Reception

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to expanding relationship with The Netherlands, including the scaling up of the ‘cool logistics corridor’ for greener and more efficient agricultural exports.

The CS was speaking during a diplomatic reception hosted by Netherlands Ambassador to Kenya, Henk Jan Bakker, in celebration of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.

The event, held at the ambassador’s residence, underscored over 60 years of strong bilateral cooperation between Kenya and the Netherlands, particularly in the agriculture sector.

From horticulture and agribusiness to sustainable and climate-smart innovations, their partnership continues to strengthen food systems and empower farmers.

With Kenya as the Netherlands’ top trading partner in the region and the Netherlands being Kenya’s leading EU export destination (USD 600M+ in 2024), the ties remain strategic and impactful.
